Oak Bay Orcas
Summer Swim Club
Our club is a competitive swim team that provides year-round coaching for swimmers from age 5 to 19. We are a BC Summer Swimming Association club and an excellent choice for busy families with children who want to swim, including swimmers who have other interests and commitments.
We offer swimmers two training days per week in our winter maintenance period (September to April) and numerous training days during our summer swim meet season (May to August). The training is focused on building strength, endurance, and technique of the four racing strokes (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly), in addition to starts, turns, and finishes. In our summer season, we take our swimmers to swim meets in communities all over Vancouver Island -- from Victoria to Salt Spring to Campbell River.
The Oak Bay Orcas acknowledge and are grateful to live, learn, and play on the traditional territories of the Lekwungen peoples and the Songhees and Esquimalt Nations whose relationships with the land continue today.
